What is an English speaking test?
An English speaking test measures how well you communicate in spoken English. Here you record answers to 4 questions, from introducing yourself to discussing an issue, and each answer is scored on fluency, coherence, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The result is a CEFR speaking level from A1 to C2.

Speaking levels follow the CEFR scale. Use the descriptions below to check where you stand before you record, then let the test place you exactly:

| B2 | 69–78 | You speak with enough fluency for regular conversation, explain a viewpoint and give detail on a wide range of subjects. |
| C1 | 79–94 | You speak fluently and spontaneously with little searching for words, and you structure longer answers on complex topics. |
| C2 | 95–100 | You take part in any discussion with ease and convey fine shades of meaning naturally. |
How your speaking is scored
You answer four questions: a personal introduction, your daily routine, a photo description and a discussion question. Each recording is scored by AI on five criteria from 0 to 100. Fluency covers pace and hesitation. Coherence covers how logically you organise and connect your ideas. Grammar covers accuracy across tenses and complex sentences. Vocabulary covers range, precision and idiomatic use. Pronunciation covers individual sounds, word and sentence stress, intonation and how easy you are to understand.
The five criteria are averaged across your four answers and then into one overall score, with equal weight for each criterion.

Your speaking report is built from your four recordings, so its feedback refers to how you actually spoke.

How is my level assessed?
Each of your four recorded answers is scored by AI on fluency, coherence, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The scores are averaged into one overall score from 0 to 100, which is converted to a CEFR level from A1 to C2.
What does the report include?
A score for each of the five criteria, your CEFR speaking level, your strengths and development areas, the error patterns in your answers and recommendations for what to practise.
How long does it take?
About 10 minutes. Most of that time is spent recording your four answers; there is no need to prepare beforehand.
What do I get for £9.99?
The speaking certificate, a PDF whose QR code links to its online record, and the personalised report on your four recordings. Recording comes first; unlocking them afterwards is optional.
What do I need to take the test?
A computer or phone with a working microphone and an up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari. You can check your microphone before the first question.
