What a CEFR practice test is
CEFR is the six-level scale — A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 — used across Europe and by many universities and employers. Questions written to CEFR mean a B1 exercise asks for B1 skills wherever you take it, so progress from one level to the next is a real change in what you can do, not a change in scoring.
Practice does not produce a certificate. If you need one, the English Level Test gives a CEFR result you can turn into an online-verifiable certificate.
English practice — common questions
What is an English practice test?
A short set of questions at one CEFR level that shows what you can already do and where you lose marks. Unlike a placement test, you can repeat it as often as you like — the point is the practice, not the score.
Is there a free English practice test?
Yes. The skills check is free and takes a few minutes. It places you at a CEFR level and shows your weakest skill before you decide whether to practise further.
What is a CEFR practice test?
CEFR is the six-level scale from A1 to C2 used across Europe and by many universities and employers. A CEFR practice test uses questions written for one of those levels, so the result means the same thing everywhere.
Which level should I practise at?
The one just at the edge of comfortable. The free skills check places you, and questions then follow your level as it changes — practising far below your level builds confidence but not range.
Does the practice pass include speaking and writing?
No. The pass covers grammar, vocabulary, reading and listening. Speaking and writing are separate products with their own pages.
Do I get the answers explained?
Yes. Every answer gets an AI explanation, including why the wrong options are wrong.
How long do I get access for?
You pay once. Access runs for the length of the pass you choose (4 weeks or 12 weeks) and then ends automatically — nothing is charged again.
Is practice the same as the English level test?
No. The English Level Test gives you a CEFR result you can certify. Practice is unlimited repetition at your level — no certificate, no time pressure.
